PTSD & Me, and forgiving again.
More on my journey of forgiving, again, when triggers take over.
This is PTSD.
This is forgiving again.
You can hear the totality of Amy’s story by visiting wednesdayswithwatson.com.
This episode should encourage those of you who often get frustrated with PTSD and triggers. This episode should serve as an encouragement to those fighting the PTSD battle.
Special thanks to Phil Baker for allowing us to use his song “Marked By You” may we all seek to be marked by our suffering savior.
Psalm 91: The PTSD Patient’s prayer:
You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around,
drop like flies right and left,
no harm will even graze you.
You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
watch the wicked turn into corpses.
Yes, because God’s your refuge,
the High God your very own home,
Evil can’t get close to you,
harm can’t get through the door.
He ordered his angels
to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
their job is to keep you from falling.
You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
and kick young lions and serpents from the path.
14-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
“I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I’ll give you the best of care
if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”

We live in a cancel culture world, so it is wise always to investigate motives for podcast episodes like this one. So many are walking away from their faith, and many times it is God’s people, even His servants, that are driving people away from Jesus, the Star of the Story. Amy Fritz (Host of the Untangled Faith Podcast) joins us to share her experience with Dave Ramsey Solutions. As the wife of an employee who saw and experienced firsthand some abuse of power at Dave Ramsey Solutions, she also walks us through her forgiveness journey.
But Jesus. These days, Amy carefully shines a light on the abuse of power. Dr. Diane Langberg is a huge part of her healing story.
It is our prayer that Jesus that He alone is glorified in this conversation. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my soul be acceptable in thy sight”
Amy is the founder/visionary/host of the Untangled Faith Podcast. She lives near Nashville with her husband, three children, and two dogs. She loves to read, write, talk, and connect people to other people and resources. She loves Jesus and hates spiritual abuse.
The Untangled Faith Podcast is a place for those who have been hurt or disillusioned in their faith journey. It’s for the wounded resistors who want to hold on to their faith while untangling it from all that is not good and true.
